  1. Can you state your five most relevant and compelling brand attributes (that is your own inner strengths or traits)?
  2. Do you have a brand positioning statement or tag line stating your unique promise of value?
  3. Can you clearly describe the demographics of your target audience (name, age, gender, profession, location, etc.)?
  4. Can you describe the psychographics of your target audience (what they read, where they go on vacation, what they're interested in, etc.)?
  5. Have you documented your vision for the world, something you would like to see happen for humanity or for the entire planet?
  6. Have you documented your purpose for supporting your vision (this is your role in helping to turn your vision into reality)?
  7. Do you know your short and long term goals?
  8. When people introduce you, do they all use the same words to describe you?
  9. Do you know who your competitors/peers are and what their strengths and weaknesses are?
  10. Can you clearly describe what differentiates you from your competitors?
  11. Do you have a brand communications plan for the year?
  12. Have you written an article or white paper in the past three months that is connected to your vision?
  13. Have you published any article for print in the past three months?
  14. Have you published any article for the Web in the past three months?
  15. Are you comfortable with your presentation skills?
  16. Have you spoken before a group in the past three months?
  17. Do you have your own newsletter, on-line or printed?
  18. Do you have a plan for diminishing or eliminating any less desirable brand attributes (things that can get in the way of your own success)?
  19. Do you have a personal brand identity system (business cards, stationery, e-mail template, etc.)?
  20. Do you mark every project with your personal brand (e.g. e-mail, voice-mail greeting, reports, etc)?
  21. Do you have a strong professional network of people both inside and outside of marketing?
  22. Have you called, written to or gotten together with a member of your professional network this week?
  23. Do you send regular communications (e-mails etc) to your network members?
  24. Have you done something for a member of your network this week?
  25. Is your personal style (wardrobe, business accessories, etc.) consistent with your brand and appropriate for your target audience?

  27. Are your leisure activities (vacations, hobbies) consistent with your brand?
  28. Do you belong to at least one professional association or organization?
  29. Do you take an active role in a professional organization (e.g. sit on a board, volunteer, etc.)?
  30. Do you actively participate in a philanthropic organization?
  31. Are your brand goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-frame specific)?
  32. Are your goals documented?
  33. Do you regularly track progress toward your goals?
  34. Do you have metrics in place to assess your brand progress?
  35. Do you have focus groups of peers or managers that provide feedback on your brand?
  36. Do you regularly ask for feedback from peers or managers (at the end of a project, each quarter, etc.)?
  37. Do you have a standard form that you use to gather feedback (after presentations, project completions, receipt of product or service, etc.)?
  38. Do you have a coach or mentor?
  39. Do you have a plan describing how you would like to see your brand evolve?
